Welcome to South West Veterans

The purpose of the service is to make it easier for you as a veteran, or a relative or close friend of a veteran, to get the best advice and support on your mental health…

We understand that talking about this isn’t always easy but by doing so you will be taking a step in the right direction.

This site will help you to understand some of the issues which may be affecting you, and it’s important to remember that you are not alone.

1 in 4 of us will experience poor mental health at some time in our lives. Your experience as a veteran may bring with it some issues which can make you feel isolated and unsure of what to do. If so, talk to us.

The service is confidential and non-judgmental.

Although we would always encourage you to visit your GP in the first instance, we also know how difficult it can be to share your thoughts and experiences. If this is the case, or you are unsure of what to do next, please feel free to contact us direct via our Contact page.

The South West Veterans Mental Health Service is provided by Avon and Wiltshire Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) but covers the whole of the South West region.
